I NEED LONGMAN DICTIONARY
This is the best dictionary for students who are learning English as a second language.
I'm so glad these lookup flaws are fixed now; the updated version has come, which can be redownloaded on purchased books list page ("My eBooks"), file name is ldoce5.prc. Gread dictinary!

The dictionary itself is excellent. But 'pronunciation keys' is too small on Cybook reader to be read easily (or read at all).

My low rating derives from the fact that I cannot highlight the search words for later review. The words are in the header section and there is no way you can do that. Although it is aesthetically more pleasing, the lack of this feature outweighs this benefit by far. I would expect a corrective action either from Mobipocket or Longman.
Although I haven't used the book extensively so far, the content seems satisfactory.
this is the most helpful dictionary that use simple words to explain the meaning. it's essential for all learners of english in their different levels
By all terms, it's a good dictionary. First of all, it has one of the clearest and most beautiful page formats among others. It describes the words very simply, and often with examples. On very few occasions, it failed to include a few words I was searching. But it's OK for over 95% or so. I'm very happy with it after an intense usage of one week.
This is a big but very basic dictionary with fairly shallow definitions of common words. Very many less-frequently-encountered words are missing, making it not very useful for native speakers of English. It integrates well with Mobipocket ebooks, which for me, an American-born college graduate, is its main (and only) strength.

I have been waiting for a long time for a digitised version of this dictionary. LDOCE in its paper incarnation has been my steady companion for years: both when I learned English myself and later, when I became a EFL teacher. There is a stand-alone PC/Win version od LDOCE, but it has several flaws, its (lack of) speed being the main one. It is amazing that the same dictionary works like a charm with the aid of Mobipocket, and also has the added bonus of being a context dictionary. This means you can be reading an e-book and just by clicking a word instantly check its definition in LDOCE.
All in all, this dictionary deserves full marks both for the content and interface. Great job, Longman and Mobipocket!
